Our New Arrival…

July 17th, 2007 by chrislovescatherine

Well, today, July 17,2007 at 12:44 PM Savannah Catherine Overby was born in Tyler, Texas. She was 6 lbs 11ozs and 20 inches long. She is so beautiful that I cried when they put her in my hands for the first time. She has long legs, and long toes. Her hair is kind of a strawberry blond…blond with just a touch of red. Savannah decided sometime close to the end of Catherine’s labor that it was very uncomfortable to be coming out head first, and so she swapped ends. Within minutes of actual delivery, the nurse and our midwife suddenly realized that they were now looking at the wrong end of things. This was a shocking turn of events. At that point, the decision was made to perform a C Section on Catherine. No one was very sure that the baby would fit through in a breech presentation. Well, shortly after that, Savannah was born and a more wonderful sight I don’t think I have ever seen. She is truly a little miracle and wonderful blessing from God!

Needless to say, we just adore our little girl.

Two tired little girls

Here are two tired little girls…the two most beautiful women in my life.

Wooped Daddy

Of course, I am pretty whooped myself… :-)

Praise the Lord for His little bundle of blessing! I promise to post more later. Thank you all so much for your prayers and love.

    Dear Chris and Catherine,
We rejoice with you over the safe arrival of Savannah!! She chose a great day to make her entrance into the world. My birthday is 7/17 and Stephen, one of my sons, shares that birthday with me!! We will pray for your recovery; seems as though you’re off to a great start going home so quickly. I’ve gone home less than 48 hours after surgery with 6 of my 8 c-sections (one was premature so I stayed a day longer and with one other I had an infection and had to stay for 5 days.) The best thing you can do is get up and move even when it hurts (speaking from having been there but also from a medical standpoint)!!
Plus, you’ll find that you’ll recover so much better at home (with hubby to care for you)rather than at the hospital!
Enjoy getting to know your sweet blessing!
Cindy, who’ll be having her 9th c-section, Lord willing, on Oct 29th.

About Chris & Catherine

It sometimes happens, even in the best of families, that a baby is born. This is not necessarily cause for alarm. The important thing is to keep your wits about you and borrow some money.
